Jewelry Wax Carving

Wax carving is the first step in creating jewelry piece. Yet it is the most important step in the jewelry industry. Good wax carving gives good mold and good final finished jewelry piece.

Most of the wax carver here are taught by their senior jewellers. Howerver, there's an institute in Silom area that offers a course for 3months' period and charged the fee about Bht. 15,000 guaranteed for workmanship or the boss's satisfaction.

For Thai people, I think our craftmanship is second to none as we love to carve things since the old time. We did fruits carving in the palace. We join the world's ice carving competition though we never have a snow in the country and amazing candle carves for Makabuchaday

When you ask these people to carve things for you, please

please give them fullest details eg good picture/sketch, dimension of width,length, weight etc.

From my observation, the size of wax will be about 3-4% bigger than the finish produce as it will shrink during the loss wax process. For example, if you need ring size 10, you have to carve the wax for size 10 and a half.
